This fall my friend Gord Pyzer who contributes to Canada Outdoors has recently published an article on the use of surface lures for muskie fishing. The title of his article is “The Fine Art of Surfacing, Expert Topwater Tactics for Consistently Fooling Monster Muskies”. Both Lynn and myself want to thank Jeremy Wade and his River Monster crew for being our guests recently. What an experience seeing what all goes into making a fishing episode of River Monsters!
That’s all I’ll report about River Monster’s stay here on Rowan Lake as we’ll all be waiting for the show to air next April or May 2015….stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted when it actually shows.

Last weeks cold front has come and gone and stable weather set in setting up for perfect conditions. That’s exactly what happened for many of our guest the past couple of days.
Last Friday night Scott Anderson released a whopper 50″ Muskie (see my previous report) and the next day Paul Vieth also boated a carbon copy monster 49″ both were caught on the Rowan Lake famous Stump Hawg spinner bait lure. Paul and his fishing partner Mitch Albers raised 24 ...
