Nielsen’s Fly-In Lodge is Open for Business!

I was able to fly into camp last Tuesday with partial ice cover on the lake.  Lynn and the rest of our staff came in on Thursday.  With the assistance of our great friend Dean Nelson and his son Jack we were able to get camp set-up in a couple of days busting it from sunrise to sundown.  Our first guests have already arrived and the Lake Trout bite is on!

Really close to “Ice Out”!

Our good friend Rusty flew over camp yesterday and you can see the ice is still present.  May be a few more days.  A little wind and rain combo should take care of it.  Be nice if the sun would show up this spring as well!

Packed and ready to go to camp!

Two years in a row, late ice out is keeping us in a holding pattern to get into camp and get the lodge open! The long term average ice out for Rowan lake us usually the last week in April – first week in May. The good news is it won’t be long! Ice conditions have rapidly deteriorated the past couple of days and we hope to get into camp this coming week to be ready for our first guests ...
