Late August Fishing Report

We had a mid August flurry of big fish being boated. Since then we’ve had active fish for a period and then a heat wave came in and that slowed things down a bit. Water temps have reminded stable around 72 degrees. The full moon period didn’t really produce, but since the last little cold front a lot more fish are showing up. Watch for TV Show this Spring

Due North’s TV Host Bill Sherck filmed two dads with their two son’s annual fishing trip to Rowan Lake this August.

11 Muskies and 250+ bass caught and released.  We can’t wait to see it air this March.  Stay tuned….

Mid August Fishing Report

Early last week the surface water temps peaked up to 76 and with the more stable weather have slightly cooled to 72. Water levels remain high after the repeated rains we received in July.

The late spring and cool water temps prevented a lot of weed growth out on the west end of the lake while Brooks Bay and the east end have really good weed growth this summer. Water clarity is excellent with a slight algae bloom going on in ...
