Rowan Lake Poem

Posted by:

Thank you for the Poem about Rowan Lake!

Gone Fishing?

In our boat, on Rowan Lake
A forest of green hues
Balancing sky from water
We cast to the last

On Felling’s, Larson’s, or Hartman’s reef
In Sawmill, 352 or prop fish bay,
The playground, S-turn, and the bowl
We cast to the last

On rolling decks thru windblown channels
In sweltering heat and chattering rain
Until our very souls seem bruised
We cast to the last

Windblown point or leeward bay
Drifting a weed bed or open water reef
And always around the jug
All for a chance to dance
With the magnificent
We cast to the last
And is that not all anyone can ask for.
