Nielsen’s Fly-In Lodge on Rowan Lake “Ice Out??”

Well, what an interesting start to the new season here up on Rowan Lake.  Poor ice conditions and deep snow prevented us in getting all our fuel in for this year.  I’ll be flying into camp on May 10th…ice should be out tomorrow!

Early August Fishing Report

What a relief! Finally, cooler temps this past week has brought the water temps down to more normal temps for early August. The heat of July was incredible and it’s rare when we see surface temps approach the low 80’s up here on Rowan Lake.

In a single week the surface water temps went from 81 degree and are now down to low 70’s and that has triggered the bigger fish to start moving around this past week. It’s also allowed ...

End of July Fishing Report

Well it’s been a while since my last report, so here you go it has been incredibly HOT to say the least
and many windless days making it very tough to even be on the water all day. I’m feeling my age but you just have to keep going.
