It’s Happening Here….

Posted by:

Last weeks cold front has come and gone and stable weather set in setting up for perfect conditions.  That’s exactly what happened for many of our guest the past couple of days.

Last Friday night Scott Anderson released a whopper 50″ Muskie (see my previous report) and the next day Paul Vieth also boated a carbon copy monster 49″ both were caught on the Rowan Lake famous Stump Hawg spinner bait lure.  Paul and his fishing partner Mitch Albers raised 24 ...

Steve Pennaz & Lake Commandos TV were in camp

Posted by:

Our great friend Steve Pennaz went commando with Chris Hockley from Berkley Bait Co. last week chasing everything from Lake Trout, Small and Large Mouth Bass and Muskies.

We know they had the big baits to chase the Rowan Lake Muskies, but we all know both Steve and Chris are big into bass, so were betting it’s going to be a multi-special brawl between these two.  We also know lots of fish were boated but they haven’t filled us in on ...

Three Generations of the Anderson Family Tear Up Rowan Lake

Posted by:

Three generations of the Anderson family had a blast fishing here and something really BIG happened on the last hour of their trip!

The Anderson’s gang made their first trip here on Rowan Lake last summer and they came back to chase some of those big girls they saw last year.  A cold front came through at the start of their trip last week and the muskies as they always do after a cold front were being a bit shy.  The weather then stabilized ...

Prime Time is Now!

Posted by:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

We are at the time of the season where Muskie fishing is at it’s best!  The late spring and cool summer have helped to keep the lake temps below average which is keeping a lot of BIG fish hanging around in shallower waters.

Keep and eye open here for more reports soon as we have a full camp of extremely great ...

Quick Early August Rowan Lake Fishing Report

Posted by:

Just a quick report…

The weeds are exploding in 12-16 feet of water now as the surface temps are in the low 70’s.  I fished nothing connected to shore the other day and focused our efforts on all main lake reefs and found the BIG girls just lounging around out there.  We saw 11 put one in the net and should have had three that day… that’s fishing!   The interesting thing was that it was 71 degrees down to 18 ft and 60 ...

..especially on Rowan Lake.

Congrats to Dan  on this 49″ inch beautiful Rowan lake Muskie that he boated on the last day of his trip to Rowan lake.  Dan was spending his fishing trip with his Dad Joe.

Bob Blake dialed in on a nice pike and Jason captured an awesome Rowan Lake sunset off our deck recently.

Mid July Fishing Report

Posted by:

Water levels continue to drop, but we are still high for this time of the summer.  Lake surface temps continue to rise and are getting in the upper 60’s and low 70’s on sunny days.  Still cool for this time in July especially compared to the last two years where we were pushing 80 degree temps.  The weedy bays have good weed growth and the deeper water cabbage tips are starting to show up.  The high water has definitely impeded ...
