Last weeks cold front has come and gone and stable weather set in setting up for perfect conditions. That’s exactly what happened for many of our guest the past couple of days.
Last Friday night Scott Anderson released a whopper 50″ Muskie (see my previous report) and the next day Paul Vieth also boated a carbon copy monster 49″ both were caught on the Rowan Lake famous Stump Hawg spinner bait lure. Paul and his fishing partner Mitch Albers raised 24 fish on Saturday all going over the 40″ mark. The conditions are excellent to continue this trend for all species (see pics below).
Lake trout are relatively shallow and scattered. They never settled into the deep holes like they usually do. Once you find them, they are easy targets. Small and Large Mouth Bass are active and everyone who has ventured into our portage lakes have caught plenty of walleyes. Lake temps were 73 degrees last week and have been falling due to cool nights.
Sylvia Spitzer is back in camp and you can bet your best Muskie lure she’ll have her name on the release board with some dandy muskies like she always does. I’ll keep you posted right here, so check back often.
Next week the Jeremy Wade and the Fishing Monster’s TV crew will be in camp looking for the World Record “Man Eating” Muskies of Rowan Lake! Stay Tuned….should be interesting!
